Interview withTrevor Jones AKA Poor Boy's Soul

For someone who never heard of Poor Boy's Soul how would you describe yourself to them?
I would say that you could call my music outlaw blues. It sounds like a freight train rolling along at midnight in a lighting storm. On a sharp curve going just a little to fast. Almost tipping but some how making it.

Can you tell us some of your best and worst experiences while hitching and riding trains?
Well when you travel like a tramp you come to see it all as part of the adventure. Even the bad times end up making really funny stories. But I would say that getting stuck in Alabama in early September when it was 98 degrees was pretty bad. Myself and a friend had meant to go to Atlanta and had gotten on the wrong train. We had spent the night before in Memphis stumbling around the train yard until 3 in the morning trying to find the right train. We finally found what we thought was the right train. But it took us all the way to Alabama. Once we got to the yard are train died. So we had to find a new one. We ended up in a swamp getting eaten by huge biting flies and trying not to get caught. We finally found our way out and on to a good train. It ended up taking 12 hours though. But I will never riding into Alabama again.

And of coarse going to jail a few weeks ago is up there on the list of lame times on the road for sure.

How long did it take you to write the songs on you forthcoming album "Burn Down"? What were some of your inspirations that brought these songs to life?
I wrote most of the songs in about 6 or 7 months. Annalisa was a song I wrote a few years back and felt it was time to put it down on wax.

If you could travel through time and change a event in history what would it be and why?
One event or series of events that I would change if i could would be the rise of capitalism. If i could go back and stop that from happening I believe we would not be in the mess we are in today.

What are the current and future plans for Poor Boy's Soul?
I plan to keep writing song and performing. I hope to record a few more songs in August for a 7inch vinyl record. Also I plan to get some more traveling in before the weather gets to cold. And just keep having fun.
